How Does This Work?

Simple. We buy iTunes Gift Cards on your behalf, scratch the code and send it to you via email in exchange for a small commission.

Why Don't I Just Buy From Apple Directly?

If you have a credit card or PayPal account with a USA-based billing address, you may indeed be able to buy from Apple. However, if you only have a credit card or PayPal account based outside of the USA (for whatever reason), you will only be able to get credit at the United States iTunes Store by making use of the service we provide.

Won't I Need a US Address to Use the Certificate?

Not if you create a new iTunes account by redeeming a certificate. See below for detailed instructions. Note that you only need to create a new account once; thereafter you can simply add more certificates to the same account.

What Payment Methods Are Supported?

At this time we only support payment via PayPal Money Transfers or Credit Card. Since credit card processing is handled by PayPal on our behalf, we never have access to your actual credit card information or even your name. The only thing we're interested in is your email address so that we may send you the purchased iTunes Gift Certificate. Rest assured that we'll never pass on your email address to anyone else; we hate spam as much as you do!

Although our PayPal payment processing is configured so that you don't need to have a PayPal account in order to pay with your credit card, PayPal may still require you to first sign up for a free account, depending on the country you are located in and how many times you've used PayPal in the past.

Can I Buy Apps for my iPhone in the US iTunes Store?

Yes, we’ve had several reports that Apps can be bought from the US iTunes Store and used on iPhones from different countries.

Will the code expire?

No, the code will never expire. I have the physical card and US retail store receipt with me to back it up. In my experience any iTunes codes should not be expired. Only codes purchased by a stolen credit card need to be used within hours. And apparently Apple will block your iTunes account when they find out.

How Long Will It Take To Process My Order?

It depends.

If you are a return customer, you will receive it almost immediately (within 30 minutes) if it is a weekday US daytime. If it is US nighttime or weekend, I will send the code as soon as I can within 8 hours.  

If you are a new customer, please send me your eBay account if you have one. It will speed up the process. I will check your eBay account if available, your email address, your address registered with Paypal, whether it is confirmed or not, and other criteria.

Note that your order may be placed on hold (see next question).

Why Was A Hold Placed On My Order?

We're really sorry about the hold, but unfortunately we had to implement it to protect ourselves somehow after a spate of fraudulent transactions. The problem is that PayPal can reverse the transaction at any time if they suspect that a fraudulent credit card was used. It usually happens within a few hours, but sometimes only after a few days. Since we don't sell any tangible (physical) goods, PayPal offers us no seller protection. So if they reverse a transaction and we've already mailed out the code, we lose the value of the gift card. PayPal actually suggested we wait 7 days before sending out any codes, but we've decided on a compromise, with a hold period ranging from 0 to 2 days based on a couple of heuristics. That is also why we can only tell you how long your hold period (if any) will be after you’ve placed an order.

What Will Happen If A Transaction is Reversed?

When a transaction is questioned or is reveresed by Paypal, I will let you know as soon as I know. Please check with your bank or credit card to see if they make the reverse and contact Paypal to ask them clear the transaction. Unfortunately once the payment is reversed, I will lose my iTunes card(code). I will have to fax the receipt and physical card to Apple iTunes store to prove my ownership and ask them to open an investigation on the account that used the card. Normally Apple will close your iTunes account if they conclude that the account used an iTunes code without authorization.

How to Redeem iTunes Gift Certificates

Gift certificates bought from BuyFromPowerSeller are only redeemable from a US-based iTunes Store account, so if you do not yet have an iTunes Store account, or have an account with an iTunes Store from another country, you will need to create one as per the instructions below. Note that you only need to do this once; thereafter you can reuse the account to redeem any US gift certificates you buy in the future. Unless you have a US-based credit card or PayPal account, the only way to create an account at the US iTunes Store is by using a gift certificate bought at the US iTunes Store (such as the ones sold by BuyFromPowerSeller).
 

Follow these steps to create a new account at the US iTunes Store (only required once):

1. Start the iTunes application.
2. Make sure you are not signed in with another account (click on Sign Out if necessary).
3. Select United States as your iTunes store using the menu at the bottom of the iTunes display area:
   
4. Click on Redeem (top-right, Quick Links section):
   
5. Enter the code on the gift certificate into the space provided, then click on Redeem.
6. The normal sign-in dialog will be presented. Click on Create Account (you don’t need to enter an Apple ID or password).
7. Read through the Apple Terms of Service, scroll to the bottom, and then click on Agree.
8. Enter a new Apple ID, fill in the other fields as required, and then click on Continue. Some users have found it necessary to use an email address that has never been registered with Apple before.
9. Enter your name, and any valid US address into the fields provided.
10. Where it asks for a credit card (in the Optional payment method area), make sure that None is selected:
11. Click on Continue.
12. iTunes will now sign you in with the new credentials you provided, and credit your new account with the value of the gift certificate.

Congratulations! That’s all there is to it. In the future when you buy another gift certificate, you can simply sign in with the account you just created (if you’re not signed in with it already) and click on the code in order to redeem it.
